Just soon as SLPL 2012 ended we had ICC world T20, now as it ends we have another T20 fest, Champions League t20. The 2012 Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20) will be the fourth edition of the Champions League Twenty20. The tournament will start on 9 th October ( qualifier stage) with the main stage starting from 13 th of October. This edition of CLT20 is significant for being the first to feature a Pakistani team.

The tournament will feature a qualifying stage, introduced in the 2011 edition. As with all previous editions, the tournament format was changed: only two teams qualify from the qualifying stage to the group stage.
Six teams participate in the qualifying stage, from which two teams advance to the group stage to join eight direct entrants. The top four teams from the group stage advance to the knockout stage.

The six teams playing for the final berth to the main stage are Auckland Aces, Trinidad and Tobago, Sialkot stallions, Yorkshire Carnegie, Hampshire Royals, Dhaka Galdiators, Uva next.

The qualified teams are Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Dare devils, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight riders, Titans, Highveld Lions, Sydney Sixers, Perth Scorchers.

The fourth edition of T20 world cup is scheduled to be held between September 18 and October 7 at sri Lanka.India and England are in the same group and will be joined by the runner up of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier; Afghanistan.
