Sri Lanka Premier League, before know as Inter Provincial league starts it’s season 2011 on July 19th at Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka. There are 24 matches to be held in this SLPL 2011 season among 7 teams representing 7 provinces of Sri Lanka. One of the seven teams competing for the title of Sri Lanka Premier League is Wayamba Wolves lead by Mahela Jayawardene.
Wayamba Wolves SLPL 2011 Team a Short Note
Wayamba Wolves SLPL team represents North Western Province of Sri Lanka in the 2011 Sri Lanka premier League, and was established 21 years ago on 1990. It is based on Kurunegala, Wayamba means North West in Sinhalese. Wayamba Wolves participates in Both Inter Provincial limited over tournament Inter Provincial T20 tournament. The team has it’s own stadium at Welagedara Stadium, But all of the SLPL matches are going to be held on Premadasa Stadium Colombo, they won’t be able to play in their home ground. Wayamba Wolves was known before as Wayamba elevens, won all the three Inter Provincial T20 cricket Championships, from 2007-2008 season to 2009-2010 season. They had also won joint champions with Kandurata Kites in the 2007/08 Inter-Provincial Limited overs tournament after the finals match drawn due to rain.Wayamba Wolves SLPL 2011 Team Squad
The team list of Wayamba Wolves hasn’t been finalised yet. A team can include 5 overseas player and others from Sri Lanka including first class and international players plus one under 21 cricketer summing up to 18 Players.
