SLPL 2012, the modified version of Domestic interprovincial T20 championship in Sri Lanka all set to starts its season on August at Colombo Premadasa stadium. The tournament is in between Seven teams namely Wayamba Wolves, Basnahira Bears, Kandurata Kites, Nagenahira Nagas, Ruhunu Rhinos, Uva Unicorns, Uthura Oryxes representing seven provinces of Sri Lanka.
What is special about the SLPL T20 2012 tournament this year from the previous versions is the presence of 50 plus foreign players in the league. There will be 16-18 players in a team consisting at most 6 foreign players others are Sri Lankan players including an under 21 cricketer. Many players from many countries has extended their hand towards the tournament.
All together there would be 24 matches and would be played only at just two venues. They are the R. Premadasa International Stadium, and the Pallekele International cricket stadium in Kandy. It is also reliably learnt that all matches are to be telecast worldwide ‘Live’.
