On 11 th of this August, at Premadas stadium, Colombo the curtain for the first Sri Lanka Premier League will rise. Actually SLPL 2012 is the continuation of Inter Province T20 tournament held for many years in Sri Lanka. There will be 24 Matches in total in the tournament and 7 teams representing 7 provinces will battle for the Sri Lankan Premier League title. One of the team is Nagenahira Nagas.

Nagenahira Nagas representing eastern province of Sri Lanka is one of the newest teams added to Sri Lanka Premier League. Varun Beverages Lanka Private Limited purchased the team for $3.22 million in 2012. They will own the team for seven years, after which a new agreement may be negotiated
